Roger Mayer is probably best known for his association with Jimi Hendrix. He designed the Octavia, which was first featured on "Purple Haze". Roger Mayer is also famous for manufacturing Recording Studio consoles and other equipment used by the Broadcast and Recording Industries.

He was nominated for a Technical Grammy and his designs have won many awards in these fields.

The design of the Rocket Shape enclosure in 1980 has gone on to become 'The Iconic Design' for a guitar pedal and the Vision Wah which also features a Composite Carbon Fibre footplate is the most advanced type of it's kind.
